When the Nobel Prize winning author Rudyard Kipling would put his young daughter, Josephine, to bed at night he would often tell her a bedtime story.  Among the stories he told her were a group of funny little fables he made up about how certain things in the world had come to be:  how the camel got his hump or how the rhinoceros got his skin, for example.
