It’s the late 1800s in London. The Industrial Revolution is reaching a fever pitch and people are deeply aware of the power of machinery, but also of the pitfalls of the industrial age. This new world makes so many things possible, but along with it comes a less personal world, a more polluted world, a world in which things seem uncertain. The coal in the air has brought ‘London fog’ to an extreme. (Apparently, in 1879, London did not see the sun at all between November and April.more >
