ACTORS' WORKSHOP: Using Voice & Body to Tell a Powerful Story!

Ages: 8th – 12th graders

Time: 6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Where: New Hall, Barter Education Building
Teacher: David Alford and Katie Becker
Cost: $140

This fast-paced workshop will delve into performing on two frontiers: seeking command of the voice and using the body to convey a story. First, students will explore their own voices to expand the range of their vocal delivery, to infuse their lines with richness & complexity. Then, students will gain new skills to enhance their physical movement onstage to convey a story. Once these enhanced skills are combined, students will experience a new depth and flexibility in their performing. This workshop will use masterfully written texts from classical literature, theatrical and literary, for the final work presented for parents and friends at the last meeting. Possible 2011 performance opportunities may present themselves, using the students and materials studied in this workshop.
David Alford and Katie Becker - two of our most powerful and popular teachers - are joining forces to teach this special workshop, and the class size will be limited, so please call soon to enroll. Materials are provided.
