Barter Youth Academy is an innovative theatre education program that teaches students teamwork and creativity in a fun, fast-paced rehearsal environment! This Fall, Barter Youth Academy students will bring literary classics to the stage with our “Page to Stage” Season! Students will learn acting techniques and performance skills while working together on a minimally-produced play for their final demonstration. Whether your student loves dance, comedy, drama, music, or anything in between, BYA's team of theatre professionals will create an exceptional educational experience tailored to their growth and learning.

2019 Fall Information:
Pre-Academy Classes (For ages 5 – 7)
Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes
Our Pre-Academy students will create a short demonstration of popular stories from the Nursery Rhymes of Mother Goose. Pre-Academy workshops are perfect for young students because they require very little memorization; every class delivers active, high-energy learning.
Elementary Classes (For Rising 2nd – 5th Grade)
The Velveteen Rabbit
Elementary students will explore a scripted adaptation of Margery Williams’ The Velveteen Rabbit, a timeless classic about a toy rabbit’s quest to become real through the love of a child. Students will take their imagination on a journey as they explore the world through the eyes of their toys while learning acting techniques and theatre basics to help them bring this classic tale to the stage!
Middle/High Classes (For rising 6th – 12th Grade)
The Prince and the Pauper
Middle/High students take on one of the most popular, beloved life-swap tales of all time by bringing to the stage an adaptation of Mark Twain’s The Prince and the Pauper. In class, students will learn advanced acting techniques that will transport their audience on a journey to Renaissance London as they bring this tale to the stage.
